WORKS OF THE THIRD PERIOD

Third period (1993-1998): This period represents the substantial core, since it constitutes the basis of a new effort on the aesthetic plane, expressed in new forms of montage that oblige the author to undertake a more extensive and necessary development of the theory outlined in Audiovisualogy.

The thematic rigour of these six years was exclusively tied, on the one hand, to this aesthetic development and, on the other, to the metaphoric expression of the contents announced in the subsequent essay Migrations and Survival (Migraciones y Supervivencia). All the works of this period were comprised under the title The Exhalation of the Earth (La Exhalación de la Tierra), includes a totality of fourteen works.

Some of these become the usual metaphorical expression of the author on the thoughts of Carpenter. Thus the prelude evokes the theme of the degrees of conscience, and “The Encounter of the Light” (El Encuentro de la Luz) refers to “On the creation and implementation of the Forms” treaty by that author in one of their respective chapters.

These years of uninterrupted production were dedicated exclusively to photographic production and visual compagination, leaving for the following period the recording and final edition.

From the aesthetic point of view, even if the documentary trilogy possesses a style similar to The Enigma of the Great Voices (El Enigma de las Grandes Voces), the rest of the works that form The Exhalation of the Earth (La Exhalación de la Tierra) are integrally developed following the style of music and image combined as in his first period, though now with a marked documentary reference.
