The Solar of Audiovisual Art and Memory, where it is possible to find the Museum, Library and Centre of Research and Historic – Documentary Diffusion of Human Populations Migrations were all created on the author’s initiative.
On October 2006, the Audiovisual Art and Memory Association (D.P.P.J. Leg. 147,900 – Mat. 31,597) was established. This is an institution responsible for the custody and preservation of the place that is its head office.
The Association initially founded its purposes in promoting the audiovisual diffusion as a mainly artistic media and also as a didactic instrument of sociocultural research aimed to the memory recovery, specially the historic – documentary subject matter of human populations migrations, bringing about and taking part in every initiative in favor of the theoretical investigation and diffusion of the audiovisual art and the recovery of the audiovisual memory referred to the immigration in all its expressions.
In the Memorandum of Association of the institution, they also appear the purposes to organize public activities related to the cultural aims already described, principally consisting in audiovisual exhibitions, showings, lectures, meetings, extension conferences and other similar activities, and also to promote the production of audiovisual works of the nature previously expressed, among members, and to give didactic support to institutions. It will also give training and advanced courses in charge of professionals.
